The minimum wage of RM1,500 will soon be history.

During the tabling of Budget 2025 today , PMX said the minimum wage will be increased to RM1,700 effective 1 February 2025.

The government has also decided to postpone the enforcement of the minimum wage of 1,700 ringgit for employers with fewer than five employees for six months, effective from August 1, 2025. In the meantime, The Ministry of Human Resources will also publish guidelines for starting salaries across all employment sectors for employee reference.
