The government just allocated RM 30 million to entice foreign gaming and esports companies to invest and set up a Malaysian office for new game developments with local talents
As part of the Budget 2024 announcement, Finance Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that the government is allocating the budget to promote foreign gaming companies and brands to invest in Malaysia.
The allocation is also to entice esports companies to set up shop in Malaysia. The country already has some big names in the gaming industry opening their offices here. Names such as Playstation, Streamline Studios, and Bandai Namco already have offices in the country.
