Boss Graeme Stewart, known as 'Spider,' guided his side to the title by pipping Brechin City on goal difference on a dramatic final day.
Buckie Thistle boss Graeme Stewart has unexpectedly resigned after TEN years in the job - and one of the most remarkable campaigns in the club’s history.
That was despite five existing SPFL clubs - including promotion-chasing Airdrie - also falling short of the grade. It was also a season in which Stewart guided the Moray club through three rounds of the Scottish Cup to face Celtic in the east end of Glasgow. The former Caley Thistle midfielder - nicknamed Spider - created a formidable force in the north game but in recent years had narrowly fallen short of success in the major competitions.
“I have given 100 per cent for the last 10 years and have enjoyed every minute, but I have a young family, two beautiful girls, a demanding job and feel I now need to take some time out to recharge the batteries. I was very fortunate to be given the opportunity to manage Buckie Thistle and I must thank Garry Farquhar and the board for all the trust they have shown me. The last 10 years have been amazing, and I have loved every minute.
