Bubble ending explained: What is going on in the Netflix anime?

, produced by WIT Studios and directed by the legendary Tetsurō Araki, is a beautifully animated love story set in a vibrant version of Tokyo.

Soon after, a huge explosion occurred in Tokyo and enclosed the city in one big bubble, flooding the streets and forcing the resident to leave. Eventually, a bunch of orphaned children moved in and started competing in high-stakes parkour races. We also learn more about Hibiki's backstory during a scene where he shows Uta around his secret garden. He shares that he was at the Tokyo Tower when the bubbles first appeared five years ago, which was when he began hearing the mysterious siren song.

Of course, Hibiki and Blue Blazes attempt to find her and, after some impressive leaping around, get into the bubble at the centre of the 'storm' on the Tokyo Tower.After making his way inside the gravity field we learned about earlier, Hibiki discovers that the tower has been trapped in a sort of time-limbo for five years. This explains why Hibiki can still hear the song.
