NASCAR star Bubba Wallace is celebrating with the community by hosting a block party Friday night, featuring Chicago hip-hop legend Twista.
Fans are fueling up, and so is Wallace, who is set to take part in the 2nd annual NASCAR Chicago Street Race on Sunday.The gates to Bubba's block party open at 5 p.m. Friday and the event will go until 9 p.m. at Douglass Park. The party is free to attend, but visitors must register in advance. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. As the event is unfolding on the city's West Side, crews are finalizing the track and main viewing areas for Sunday's race.

Others are brand new to the NASCAR experience. "My sister and I, we went last year, and we had a wonderful time. So, I was like, I have to come back and see him again," said attendee Ruby Wormely."I took off work and everything. Going to the race, to the pre-trials tomorrow," said attendee John Stansberry.
