French fries and chili cheese fries have officially been added to the menu at Bubba's Texas Burger Shack.the long-standing staple under the Westpark Tollway, has offered the same sides on its menu the past 30 years — jalapeno potato salad or a side of chips.

According to a report on french fries by National Geographic,But it was not until recently that Bubba’s Texas Burger Shack finally added the tasty, crispy fan favorite to their menu, along with chili cheese fries using their popular Mom’s Homemade Chili.
But when it was put up for sale in 1990, Boyd and Fisher’s father, Bellaire resident Richard Reed, decided to buy it. Renovations between 2020 and 2022, such as a new floor, ramp and walk-up window, to keep doors open during the pandemic came with a cost. Before Hurricane Harvey hit in 2017, business was booming. They even had a food truck outside the building that did sell french fries and onion rings, which the restaurant could not.“When the construction of I-610 began, business went down about half. And then with the pandemic, it went down another half,” Boyd said.
“I’m on a low-fat diet so I love the burgers because bison have less fat content than chicken,” Johnson said.
