BTS captures No. 1 spot on Billboard Hot 100

Billboard reported that BTS’ all-English single “Dynamite,” which was released on Aug. 21, debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 for the week dated Sept. 5.“Dynamite” became the 1,109th No. 1 on the Hot 100 in the chart’s 62-year history.“It’s the eighth to debut atop the Hot 100 in 2020 , doubling the previous record for the most in a single year, as four songs each entered at No. 1 in both 2018 and 1995,” Billboard added.

Based on Nielsen Music/MRC Data numbers, “Dynamite” garnered 33.9 million US streams and sold 300,000 copies in the first week ending Aug. 27 in addition to recording 11.6 million radio airplay audience impressions in the week ending Aug. 30. The Hot 100 feat came a day after BTS won four awards at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards: Best Group, Best K-pop, Best Pop and Best Choreography.

YouTube told Bulletin Entertainment that “Dynamite” set a new all-time record for the biggest music video Premiere with viewers of over 3 million peak concurrents.
