Underwood is a top-five player in the 2025 class.
Underwood is listed at 6'3", 205 pounds and plays his high school football at Belleville High School in Michigan.
He's rated a five-star recruit according to the 247Sports Composite. The same system ranks him the No. 2 player nationally, the No. 1 quarterback and the No. 1 recruit in Michigan. Underwood stacked up 41 reported scholarship offers, but whittled his list down to just seven on Monday. Will Stein and the Ducks offered him back in June, but he has not yet made the trip out to Eugene.
He has however taken visits to LSU, Colorado and Penn State this fall. The Michigan native has completed 112-of-166 passes for 2,051 yards and 26 touchdowns against just 1 interception so far in his junior season, according to MaxPreps., but appear to be continuing to recruit other passers this cycle.Underwood is a special talent and it's always great to be listed as a finalist for the No. 1 quarterback in the country.
That said, I haven't heard any buzz between Oregon and Underwood and I would think the Ducks are very happy with what they have in Smith. I'm not 100% certain if they're planning to sign two quarterbacks this cycle after landing commitments fromIn my eyes I don't view the Ducks are much of a player here unless Underwood makes his way out for a visit.
