Harsin was fired at Auburn in 2022 midway through second season
Former Auburn head football coach Bryan Harsin is reportedly "in the mix" for the opening at Utah State. The 48-year-old Harsin has been out of coaching since he was fired by Auburn midway through the 2022 season, his second on The Plains. He went 9-12 with the Tigers, but has an overall head-coaching record of 85-36 including stops at Arkansas State and Boise State .Harsin grew up in Idaho, and played quarterback at Boise State in the late 1990s.
A member of the Mountain West Conference, Utah State fired head coach Blake Anderson for off-field reasons in July. The Aggies went 4-8 under interim coach Nate Dreiling, finishing their season with a 42-37 loss to Colorado State this past Saturday.
