Firefighters with the Houston Fire Department, along with the Harris County Flood Control District, have been working the fire since Sunday and are expected to remain on scene for several days until it is fully under control. Officials say residents in the Verde Forest neighborhood, especially those living east of Thorn Street and north of Caddo Road, should stay alert and be prepared to evacuate if conditions change.
