BANDAR SEI BEGAWAN: Brunei citizens, permanent residents (PRs) and foreigners holding valid identification cards (ICs) are not allowed to leave the country starting on Monday (March 16) except for medical treatment, attend court hearing or studies overseas.

The latest move to curb the spread of Covid-19 in Brunei Darussalam was announced by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Mohd Isham bin Jaafar at a press conference yesterday.

“For those people coming into the country, measures will be announced in the following days. How long this will last depends on the situation.” Brunei Darussalam on Monday had recorded 10 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 50. The MoH advised those who attended the local Tabligh gathering on March 5-8 to undergo immediate testing for Covid-19 at the Sports Complex of the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital.
