Bruce Lehrmann submitted an expenses form to the Seven Network that included “pre-production expenses”. Ex-producer Taylor Auerbach says that meant drugs.
program used the code word “pre-production expenses” so former Liberal staffer Bruce Lehrmann could be reimbursed $750 to cover the cost of cocaine, a former producer for the network claimed.
On Friday afternoon, the court heard Seven had provided an internal document dated January 14, 2023, in which Mr Lehrmann claimed hundreds of dollars for an Avis hire car, expenses from Justin Hemmes’ Sydney bar Hemmesphere, and five hours at $150 an hour for other expenses. Seven has denied it paid Mr Lehrmann for illegal drugs. “Seven has acted appropriately at all times,” a spokesman said.. As early as October 2022 – while Mr Lehrmann was still awaiting a jury decision in a criminal trial, Mr Auerbach was in Canberra meeting with his media minder, John MacGowan. Mr Lehrmann’s team, Mr Auerbach wrote to his Seven bosses, had audio of Brittany Higgins “being coached”, “talking … about how she could turn on and off the waterworks”.
In the final stages of the day, Justice Lee indicated he was not convinced Mr Auerbach was providing evidence for noble reasons.
