'My heart was always in the right spot. I never move without intention. I’m very intentional. So especially in a positive way. And I always move with respect. So if that’s my intentions, I don’t have nothing to regret,' Moore said.
In doing their diligence on Moore, the Browns discovered that his teammates in New York liked him a lot and that he shouldn’t be a problem going forward. With a fresh start and a team that believes in him, he traveled to The Land without baggage.
Likewise, Moore can look back on his controversial incident at Ole Miss and not beat himself up. In 2019, he scored a touchdown in the Egg Bowl against Mississippi State to come within an extra point of sending the game into overtime. But Moore got down on all fours and lifted his leg in the end zone to simulate a dog urinating. He was flagged 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct, assessed on the extra point, and the kicker missed the 35-yard attempt wide right.
“I feel like that’s what the league and life brings,” Moore said. “As time goes on, just as people get older, you have more experiences and you get to learn from other people’s experiences too. So having the perspective of mine and my family’s and my close ones around me, you got to see maybe where I didn’t see that or didn’t see this. So yeah man, I feel like I’ve definitely learned.”
He also can’t wait to play with Cooper, who’s from Miami, and whom he’s emulated since he was a young boy growing up in nearby Fort Lauderdale. He also fancies himself a route-running technician like Cooper. “Man, ain’t going to lie, every day I wake up I’ve got something to prove,” he said. “I’m not a big dude. Someone’s always going to have something to say. I grew up that way and it never ain’t stopped me. Whatever the narrative it is, if I’m not good at it now, I’m trusting my work on it to be great at it. So that’s the type of mindset I take towards just getting better and life.”
