BEREA, Ohio -- The Browns hit the road for the second straight week and will play in one of the toughest environments the NFL has to offer.
Here are a few additional storylines to know ahead of the Week 7 matchup, as well as predictions on how I think each will go:How P.J. Walker went from scout team kick returner to starting important games for the Browns If Wills can’t go, James Hudson would likely get the nod in his place. Browns assistant offensive line coach Scott Peters said Friday that Hudson has had an excellent week of practice and is ready to play on either side if necessary. In the past -- notably throughout most of the 2021 season -- Wills has struggled protection-wise when he’s attempted to play through injury.
Cleveland gave up 456 net yards against Indy, and the Colts were also 3 for 4 on red zone opportunities.How I think it will turn out:Even though some of the final stats were bad, there were still good moments. The Browns got a three-and-out when the Colts were in four-minute mode in the fourth quarter to get the ball before Kareem Hunt’s go-ahead touchdown. They also came up with the game-sealing strip sack thanks to Za’Darius Smith and Ogbo Okoronkwo.
Jerome Ford returned to practice on Friday and is questionable for the game, continuing to deal with a low-grade high ankle sprain in Sunday’s 39-38 victory over the Colts. He was expected to miss a game or two and wore a walking boot in the locker room on Wednesday -- but on Friday he looked agile going through early-period running back drills.
