Dillon Gabriel will have new play caller against Jets.
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland Browns coach Kevin Stefanski is turning over play calling to offensive coordinator Tommy Rees in hope that Rees can invigorate the offense as they head to New York to face the Jets .
The Browns are 2-6 and have scored 20 or more points only once. Rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel is getting his fifth start against a Jets offense that has scored at least 20 points in five of its eight games. The Jets are actually favored by 2.5 points, so there’s a good chance that even with another outstanding outing by the Browns’ defense the offense will need to show some life. Stefanski did the same thing last season, switching the play-calling to Ken Dorsey mid-season and it didn’t help.
