The Browns ruled out a key offensive lineman on Saturday before the Giants game.
BEREA, Ohio -- The Browns’ hopes of having their two-time All-Pro tackle Jack Conklin back on the field Sunday against the Giants were snuffed out on Saturday.
It means the Browns are down to one chance to have an injured offensive tackle back on the field Sunday in starting left tackle Jed Wills Jr. After being limited all week, Wills is listed as questionable for the game. The Browns are hopeful he can be active for the first time this season, and at least rotate in to help his replacement James Hudson III, or even right tackle Dawand Jones, who sat out Wednesday with a sore knee.
The Giants have three excellent defensive linemen in Kayvon Thibodeaux, Dexter Lawrence and Brian Burns, but Burns was added to the injury report on Friday as questionable with a groin injury. Whiteheart is officially in his second NFL season out of Wake Forest. Originally signed by Arizona as an undrafted free agent in 2023, Whiteheart appeared in two games as a rookie. He will wear No. 86.
