Jameis Winston expects this to be his best year, because he's looking forward.

He went 1-2 that season, beating the Falcons in the opener and then losing to the Bucs before being replaced by Andy Dalton. The year before, Winston went 5-2 as the starter under Sean Payton before suffering a torn ACL and torn MCL.First off, man, I’m extremely grateful to have yet another opportunity to do what the Lord has called me to do in the NFL, and that’s to be a starting NFL quarterback,” Winston said. “So I’m beyond grateful for this. I am prepared, and I will do my very best.
“When I had the opportunity to sit behind Drew Brees and Sean Peyton in 2020 during the year of COVID, then I understood the importance of the process of being an NFL quarterback,” Winston said.
“I know that they’re a tough team historically that has been one of the best defenses in my era, so I know they’re going to play hard,” Winston said. “I know that they have a good secondary. One of my good friends over there, Marlon Humphrey, we’re from the same area. I know that No. 14, he’s a great player.
Stefanski was asked if Winston might have some of that Joe Flacco magic in him. Flacco stepped in for Watson after he fractured his shoulder last season and went 4-1, leading the Browns to the playoffs with an 11-6 mark. He averaged more than 300 yards per game, throwing 13 touchdown passes against 8 interceptions. The magic ran out in the playoffs, a 45-14 loss to the Texans, but Flacco won the hearts of Browns fans.
