“I was dehydrated and yeah, I just couldn’t really shake it back and get back right.” The good news for Browns fans is the fact that Ward was listed as a full participant in Wednesday’s practice on the team’s daily injury report.Should Browns stick with Joe Flacco? Most of those snaps came in the first quarter before he exited. Early in the second quarter, Ward was attended to on the bench when the Browns gave up a 15-yard touchdown pass from Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson to wide receiver Tylan Wallace to take a 10-0 lead. He was deemed questionable to return to the game around the 7:10 mark in the second quarter, and did in fact return for a handful of snaps in the third, after trying to get rehydrated with IVs in the locker room.“It’s always frustrating,” Ward said of watching the game spiral out of control. “I mean, this is the game I love playing. This is my outlet for a lot of stuff and what I enjoy doing, and playing and being out there for my guys and stuff like that. Just not being out there definitely hurt whether, win, loss or draw.” Ward was replaced on the outside by Cameron Mitchell, who played opposite of Greg Newsome II for most of the afternoon. Mitchell was targeted only four times, but allowed three catches — all three being touchdowns. For the game, Jackson threw for 225 yards and four TDs. “Just can’t get discouraged,” Ward said. “That’s the game. That’s the game sometimes. Those guys get paid as well, so I mean guys are going to make plays, but just having that fight and being able to fight back and just continues to compete out there.”Starting left tackle Dawand Jones played 63 of 73 total offensive snaps in the game, part of a predetermined plan by the coaching staff. The 6-foot-8, 374-pound JonesAfter all, the Browns had plenty of training camp practices this year in 90-plus-degree temperatures, and Ward made it through those OK — the only time he missed was due to a shoulder injury he suffered on Aug. 19. “We’re human,” Ward said. “I mean, we’re human. That’s just, I don’t know, that’s life. That’s the human body. Stuff happens and you just got to find a way to deal with it, get through it and yeah.” But does Ward feel like he would have made a difference as the Browns once again failed to create a takeaway, losing the turnover battle 2-0 for the second straight week? “I always feel like I could make a difference being out there on the field, but yeah, just got to be out there,” Ward said.Cleveland will host the 2-0 Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon. The Packers are averaging 27 points per game, the sixth-best mark in the league over the first two weeks of the season led by QB Jordan Love, running back Josh Jacobs, receiver Romeo Doubs and tight end Tucker Kraft. It’s expected to be another hot game at Huntington Bank Field, with Sunday forecasts calling for a high of 85 degrees.“Yeah, just IVs, hydrating and yeah, find a way,” Ward said when asked about making sure he’s ready.
