The brother of a slain Sheffield police officer says there was another side to former Lauderdale County jail supervisor Vicky White other than what was portrayed on the news while she was on the run with capital murder suspect Casey White.
The 56-year-old jailer died by suicide one week ago today, more than a week after she walked out of the Lauderdale County Jail with Casey White, 38.A nationwide manhunt found the couple in Evansville, Ind. A brief police chase ended in a rollover crash at which point Vicky White shot herself in the head, and Casey White was taken into custody.
“I’ve seen her go up against big mean guys that made me nervous to fight and I also seen her sit and pat those same guys on the back when the fight was over and tell them it will all be OK,’’ he said.“Every single morning when I would get off work, I called her and talked from the time I pulled out of the parking lot to the time I pulled into my driveway, and she never hesitated to answer and listen,’’ he said.
