New York Mets reliever Brooks Raley will be out “longer than anticipated,” according to manager Carlos Mendoza, as he continues recovering from a left elbow injury.
“It’s one of those where inflammation went down and he’s still playing catch, but he’s not going to be as quick as we thought it was going to be,” Mendoza told reporters on Thursday before the Mets’ series finale against the Chicago Cubs with nine strikeouts and three walks for a 0.714 WHIP.
