Actress Brooke Shields reveals in her new memoir that she never had children with her ex-husband, Andre Agassi, a decision she now considers fortunate. She details their tumultuous relationship and Agassi's comment about their lack of children during their divorce.

Brooke Shields has revealed that she never had children with her ex-husband, Andre Agassi , a decision she now considers a blessing in disguise. In her new memoir, ' Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman,' the 59-year-old actress writes that Agassi, 54, explicitly told her to be grateful they didn't have children when they divorced in 1999, stating that he wouldn't have made the separation easy.

Shields playfully quipped in her memoir that Agassi's comment made the transition much smoother. The actress was married to the former tennis star from 1997 to 1999 and candidly discussed their tumultuous relationship throughout the book. She admitted that one reason she married Agassi was because she enjoyed being in a relationship with someone more famous than herself, finding relief from the constant spotlight. She also described him as a gallant man, qualities she appreciated. However, she characterized the marriage as a 'controlling, rigid relationship' and shared a conversation she had with Agassi about her body. When Shields expressed insecurities, Agassi would reassure her of her beauty. But when she asked if he would still love her if she gained weight, particularly while pregnant, his response surprised her. He stated, 'I love you too much to let you get big and fat!' Shields acknowledged that her question was unfair but was taken aback by his blunt reply. She moved on with Chris Henchy after the divorce, whom she met in 1999 at a gym while still married to Agassi. They began dating the following year after her divorce and married in 2001. They have two daughters together, Rowan, 21, and Grier, 18
