A one-time Lehman College student sent an angry email to the school threatening physical harm to city Sheriff Anthony Miranda, police sources said.
The city’s sheriff was forced to take precautions for his safety after a Bronx man threatened him with “physical harm” in a bizarre email, police and law enforcement sources said. The nature of the threats and the contents of the email weren’t revealed — but the NYPD is now searching for Rappoport, 41.“I have no idea why I would be the target of that rage,” Sheriff Anthony Miranda told The Post Saturday.
“They wouldn’t have brought it to my attention if the threats weren’t serious,” Miranda said. “The police department and sheriff’s office are working to address those threats.”Rappoport, who attended a class or seminar at Lehman over the summer, threatened to do physical harm to the sheriff in the message, law enforcement sources said.
