Denver wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was fined a total of $36,281 by the NFL on Friday for making contact with an official during the Broncos’ 34-28 loss to Kansas City on Sunday at Empower Field, league sources confirmed Friday to The Post.
Jeudy was visibly upset after a play in the second quarter, removed his helmet and made contact with the back judge on his way off the field. He was not penalized. This week he avoided a suspension but knew early in the week that a hefty fine was likely. Head coach Nathaniel Hackett on Monday called Jeudy’s actions “unacceptable. You can’t do that. We’ve addressed that and I know that he knows he can’t do that. I know he was very frustrated at the time, but that’s just something you can’t do.”
Neither practiced at all during the week. Sutton missed Sunday’s game against the Chiefs, as well, while Hinton injured his hamstring late in that game. The Broncos will have Jeudy, rookies Montrell Washington and Jalen Virgil and newly signed Freddie Swain at the top of their receiver room.Defensive end Dre’Mont Jones and defensive tackle D.J. Jones are both listed as questionable.
