Allen Aldridge won a Super Bowl ring in 1997 with the Denver Broncos. The ring stayed with him long into his retirement years, a memento that he used to inspire a younger generation in his role as a high school football coach.In an interview with the Houston Chronicle, Aldridge said he often showed his Super Bowl ring to students 'to demonstrate the nothing was impossible.'Aldridge died Sunday at 52, according to multiple reports.
His presence and influence as a servant leader, mentor and teacher were felt by all at George Bush High and his positivity was evident among players, coaches, and colleagues as he directed them to always 'Coach 'em up!' 'A native of Houston, Aldridge starred at the University of Houston before being selected in the second round of the 1994 draft by the Broncos. His father, Allen Aldridge Sr., played three seasons in the NFL for the Houston Oilers and Cleveland Browns.
