Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert during the game against the Denver Broncos at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California Sunday December 10, 2023. Denver is 72-55-1 in 128 regular-season games dating back to 1960; the Broncos won 16-9 in the last meeting, on Dec. 31, 2023, at home, and have won three in a row against its divisional foe. Before Justin Herbert and Bo Nix’s first matchup against each other in the NFL, they were one-time foes in college.
Auburn was positioned in Oregon territory when Nix threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to Seth Williams with nine seconds left, capitalizing on an 11-play, 60-yard scoring drive, which secured a 27-21 victory. Nix played three seasons at Auburn before following in Herbert’s footsteps at Oregon, playing the final two years of his college career in Eugene.
