The offensive lineman is being placed on injured reserve Tuesday due to a groin injury, a source confirmed to The Denver Post.
“Graham really did a nice job,” Hackett said Monday. “I give Graham so much credit this whole season, all the way back to that first game against Seattle when he had to jump in and play guard. He’s played guard, now he’s played center, so he’s been all over the place and he hasn’t skipped a beat. It’s been good to get him going at center.”
Rookie Luke Wattenberg is another option in the middle and likely now slides up into the No. 2 spot behind Glasgow. Cushenberry is the fourth preferred starter on the offensive line to miss extensive time for the Broncos this year. Right tackle Billy Turner missed the first five games with a knee injury, a hamstring issue kept right guard Quinn Meinerz out multiple weeks and left tackle Garett Bolles suffered a season-ending leg fracture last month.
In a corresponding move, Denver is signing veteran safety Anthony Harris from its practice squad to the active roster. Harris, 31, has played in 94 games in his career and has been elevated from the practice squad twice this season, playing extensively on special teams against Indianapolis and the Los Angeles Chargers last month. He played the first six seasons of his NFL career in Minnesota before spending 2021 in Philadelphia.
Denver is bringing back undrafted rookie wide receiver Kaden Davis to the practice squad to fill Harris’ spot.
