The Broncos' head coaching search is heating up.
He waxed poetic about the “wizardry” of former New Orleans head coach Sean Payton, nodded to “a lot of winning” done by Michigan head man Jim Harbaugh, said Dallas defensive coordinator Dan Quinn has “a great soul” and noted the work this year of Broncos defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero.
This much is known so far: Evero and Harbaugh can and likely will interview this week. Payton has already talked with Broncos ownership and can interview in person beginning Jan. 17. That will be the case for any coach employed currently by an NFL team: Virtual interviews are allowed this week for employees of teams that missed the playoffs, but in-person talks cannot take place until after the Wild Card games.
