She always knew she was special. Now Guinness World Records knows, too. Brittany Lacayo has the widest female tongue in the world — that Guinness has confirmed. 'My family used to joke about it when I was little,' said the Houston lawyer. Lacayo said she doesn't know of anyone else in her family who shares the trait.

'Out of curiosity, I measured my tongue, and it was wider,' she said. Lacayo's is 7.90 centimeters wide, beating out Emily Schlenker's 7.33 centimeters, which held the top spot for about a decade. The male record for widest tongue belongs to Brian Thompson of California, at 8.88 centimeters.
