Britney Spears is making progress in her legal efforts to unwind a 13-year conservatorship that has ruled her life and her finances. The effort accelerated recently when her father, James Spears, moved in a new court filing, according to court documents recently filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
The development came after the 39-year-old star asked Judge Brenda Penny, presiding over the case, to remove Mr. Spears, calling the conservatorship “abusive.” The next hearing arrives Sept. 29.
