A British man has drowned off a beach at a popular holiday resort in Spain.
The 62-year-old was found lifeless in the water off the Calella de Palafrugell resort in the north-east province of Girona on Saturday.
A woman raised the alarm at around 1pm after the man failed to return from his swim at Sant Roc Cove. Police sources said an autopsy had yet to take place, but it is believed he drowned in a tragic accident.The unnamed 58-year-old was pulled out of the sea by two people, with one being a nurse who performed CPR on him.
Emergency responders continued to try to revive him after reaching the scene near the Punta de Teno lighthouse at the northwestern tip of Tenerife.while swimming off the coast of Bermuda.
