Four children and two adults were stabbed in the attack and all remain in hospital, although their conditions have improved.
The British child stabbed by a knife-wielding attacker in Annecy has been named as Ettie Turner.
The three-year-old was attacked in the French city on Thursday, along with a 22-month-old Dutch girl, and two French cousins - a boy and a girl, both aged two. She was reportedly on holiday in France with her family and is currently recovering in a children's hospital in Grenoble, where she has been visited by President Macron.
All four children were seriously injured and remain in hospital, although their conditions have improved to the point where their lives are no longer in danger, according to the regional prosecutor. There were also two adults injured - a French man aged 72, and a 78-year-old Portuguese national who was stabbed while trying to stop the attacker from escaping and was then shot by police as they detained the suspect.How the Annecy knife attack unfoldedAnnecy Mayor François Astorg told the crowd the attack was"a tragedy touching our city, the country and the whole world.
