A laundry expert has alerted households to little-known washing machine tips that could help reduce energy bills
UK households have been alerted to little-known washing machine tips that could help reduce energy bills. Customers of British Gas , OVO, EDF , Eon Next and Octopus have also been given a "rule" to follow when loading their machines.
Vivien explained: "If your washing machine is overloaded with clothes, it will take longer for the clothing to wash. Loads that are too small can also take longer, costing you extra per item." Vivien also cautioned about the quantity of detergent used, stating: "Using the right amount of detergent will save you money by reducing the need for extra rinses, which means less water and electricity used with each load of laundry.", reports Birmingham Live.
