British Army's Twitter page hit by cyber attack with account being used to promote competitions and giveaways
The account’s profile picture was changed to an image of an ape wearing facepaintFreelance reporter and late editorofficial Twitter account was hacked this evening and is promoting giveaways and competitions in bizarre posts.
The name of the social media account was amended several times and its profile picture was changed to an image of an ape wearing facepaint and a cartoon robot. Posts made from the account claim winners selected at random will receive non-fungible tokens – digital artworks bought and sold online.account was also replaced with an account promoting several live videos which displayed an interview with Tesla founder Elon Musk about cryptocurrency.
