British Airways will auction art worth up to $1.7 million, but it may not be enough in the coronavirus crisis
Tuesday that it will auction off pieces from its art collection in a bid to offset the major hit the company has taken during the coronavirus pandemic—but the roughly $1.7 million the airline has to gain according to auction estimates is likely a drop in the bucket compared to the cash the travel giant is bleeding....
The other 16 pieces, which include work by British artists like Damien Hirst, Terry Frost, Patrick Heron and George Shaw, are expected to sell for a combined almost $205,000 on the high end of auction estimates provided by Sotheby’s.
