BritBox has announced a new original series, 'A Taste for Murder', starring Warren Brown and Phyllis Logan. The series, created by Matt Baker, will blend murder mysteries with classic Italian cuisine, set against the beautiful backdrop of Capri. Filming will commence in Croatia before relocating to Italy. 'A Taste for Murder' promises to be more than a typical crime procedural, exploring the complexities of family relationships and grief while unraveling a series of intriguing murders.
The series follows DCI Joe Mottram (Brown), a renowned detective with the Metropolitan Police, who retreats to Capri with his daughter after a personal tragedy. Struggling to cope with his own grief, Mottram finds himself drawn into the local murder cases on the island. 'A Taste for Murder' aims to capture the essence of both British ingenuity and Italian passion, weaving together crime, culture, and heartfelt storytelling. Joining Brown in the cast is Logan as Elena Da Vinale, Mottram's Italian mother-in-law. The supporting cast includes Cristiana Dell'Anna, Beau Gadsdon, Urbano Barberini, Alessandro Fella, Gaia Scodellaro, and Alessandro Bedetti. The series is directed by Jon Jones and produced by Megan Ott, with executive producers Jo McGrath, Walter Iuzzolino, Carolina Giammetta, Robert Schildhouse, Stephen Nye, and Jess O’ Riordan. 'A Taste for Murder' will premiere exclusively on BritBox in the U.S. and Canada
