Shooting with your normal setup is great, but sometimes you want to introduce some change to mix things up.
. They just want something that looks different. I have a similar opinion when it comes to modern DSLR photography. These cameras produce wonderful images, but sometimes they're a littlesharp. For Saturday's race, I wanted something imperfect. For lack of a better word, I wanted a vibe.
The Sony DSC-T100 was launched in 2007 and has a five-times optical zoom lens, an automatic shutter speed between 1/4 to 1/1000 of a second, and 8 megapixels. That was a big deal at the time. The camera was meant for going out and capturing the clearest images of the night's antics . So, it's not exactly the best at grabbing, say, a sliding drift car that's 100 feet away.Does the car look soft? Yes. Does it look like it's frozen in time? Also yes. I'm fine with it, though.
Also, who remembers the vibey way everyone looked in those Facebook photos from back in the day? The automatic flash was our ride or die. Gen-Z will never know the pain of uploading 80 photos and going through to individually tag them all.Things got a little more interesting after dark. The low-light setting proved to be more difficult for the Sony to handle, though at least we can see some motion in this photo. Noisy picture, though!This one's from my 6D.
's style here, however. I was using my 20-70mm F2.8, 1/8 of a second at 70mm. This is the lowest shutter speed I've ever shot at and I'm over the moon you can actually see discernible cars in the image.
