Biniam Girmay (Intermarche-Wanty) again showcased superior sprinting legs to take his third Tour de France stage win and a commanding lead in the points classification after a messy finish to Stage 12.
SBS On Demand Tour de France Hub iOS Android Girmay triumphed in what was a close bunch sprint to the line in Villeneuve-sur-Lot, pipping Wout van Aert and Arnaud Demare , the Eritrean holding up three fingers in celebration of his third win at the Tour de France. Demare was later relegated after a dangerous move in the chaotic finale almost put van Aert into the barriers, his 3rd place given to Pascal Ackermann .
I’ve proved now in three sprints that if I’m well positioned, I’m capable of finishing. "The green jersey gives me wings. I feel super fast. It's in the head. I've had my ups and downs in recent seasons, but I changed things this year and it's working.
