Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo NtshavheniBRICS Summit scheduled for August, will still take place in South AfricaBriefing the media on the outcomes of the cabinet meeting, Minister Ntshavheni says President Cyril Ramaphosa would be calling his Chinese counterpart President Xi Jinping this week after the Presidency confirmed that Ramaphosa had a telephonic conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the upcoming peace mission by African leaders.

“When the IMC has finalised its work because the IMC continues to work, it may update the Cabinet once in a while and will consider various options. “When it has finished its work we have indicated that the announcement will be made, that is the final decision as it relates to the hosting of the BRICS summit, as things stand South Africa is continuing to host the summit here and any other announcement will be made when the relevant decision has been take,” Ntshavheni explains.
