Hessler Court, the last wood brick road in Cleveland, has seen the City of Cleveland complexly replace the bricks after road deteriorated badly over the years
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Hessler Court is a piece of Cleveland’s history, a throwback to an era more than a century ago. But time and the elements had threatened the historic wooden road in University Circle .
Replaced in the eighties, the wood brick road fell into disarray, weather and time causing rotting, potholes, displaced bricks, poor drainage, and piecemeal patchwork. Capital Projects and said to us, ‘this is so cool, we have to preserve this,’ our hearts just lit up.”
