The San Diego Brewers Guild bills our region as “The Capital of Craft Beer.” Are we also “The Epicenter of Non-Alcoholic Beer”?
“It’s a big brewery to grow into, for sure,” said Bill Shufelt, Athletic’s co-founder and CEO. “We want to do our best to honor that history. It’s a special brewery.” When Athletic finishes remodeling the former Ballast Point facility, the 7-year-old company will be poised for dramatic growth. Again. Joe Chura, president of Illinois-based Go, opened last year after experimenting in a brewery built inside his garage. Now sold in nine states, Go is preparing to enter 10 more and has already landed several San Diego accounts.
