Willy Adames homered, doubled and drove in three runs as the Milwaukee Brewers snapped the visiting Cincinnati Reds' five-game winning streak with a 7-3 victory on Friday.

Joey Wiemer added a two-run home run and Owen Miller had three hits and an RBI for Milwaukee, which outhit Cincinnati 14-4 and moved within a game of the first-place Reds in the National League Central.Joey Votto hit a two-run homer and drove in all three runs for Cincinnati, which had gone 23-6 since losing the first three of a four-game series against the Brewers in early June.

Cincinnati starter Andrew Abbott yielded six runs on nine hits over 4 1/3 innings after giving up a total of five runs in his first six career starts. He walked one and struck out six. Wiemer extended the lead with one out in the second inning with a two-run homer to left-center field. The 397-foot blast was Wiemer's 12th of the season.

Cincinnati avoided further damage in the sixth inning when Adames fouled out and Owen Miller flied out after Milwaukee loaded the bases with one out.
