In a statement issued outside the Newcastle Local Court, Brett Button said he was 'devastated' by the 2023 crash.

What's next?A bus driver charged over a deadly crash in the New South Wales Hunter Valley has apologised to the victims and their families.

Ten people died on June 11 last year when a coach carrying 35 passengers from a nearby wedding overturned on a roundabout near Greta.The driver, Brett Andrew Button, is facing 89 charges in relation to the crash.In the statement Mr Button said he was "devastated" by what had happened and apologised to the victims and their families.

"There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about what happened that day, that night," the statement said. "There isn't an hour that goes by, where I'm not thinking of the families that have been affected by my actions."I am devastated by what has occurred and for that I'm truly and deeply sorry."The 59-year-old, who was flanked by a group of family and friends as he entered the court, fought back tears as the statement was read.

Mr Button's case has been adjourned until April while further discussions take place between the Director of Public Prosecutions and the defence.Mr Button allegedly lost control of the bus, which had been taking guests from the Wandin Valley Estate to Singleton.The bus was owned by Hunter company Linq Buslines.
