Breonna Taylor’s family has joined with demonstrators and other supporters to honor the two-year anniversary of the Black woman’s death in a botched police raid.

“Kentucky has failed Breonna Taylor. Kentucky has failed our community,” Austin said to protestors gathered in the square. Wearing a white t-shirt decorated with a portrait of her niece, she pointed in the direction of the Louisville Metro Police Department buildings. “We have an opportunity to get justice in a different type of way by going to the ballot box this election season,” Herron explained.
