Irish actress Brenda Fricker, the Oscar winner known as the “pigeon lady” in “Home Alone 2,” has died.

Brenda Fricker, the Irish actress who won an Academy Award for her role in the 1989 film "My Left Foot" and as the "pigeon lady" in "Home Alone 2," has died.
"We will never see her like again and the world is lesser for the lack of her," Belfield said in a statement to BBC. "I was honoured to know, love and work with her and she will always have a place in my heart and in the heart of so many film and TV fans the world over.
"Fricker was born in Dublin, Ireland, and got her start in acting with roles in the theater and on Ireland’s first soap opera in the 1960s. In the U.S., she won an Oscar for best supporting actress in 1990 for her role in "My Left Foot" with Daniel Day-Lewis. She beat Julia Roberts and Anjelica Huston when she won the Oscar.
Day-Lewis also won an Academy Award for "My Left Foot," based on the true story of an Irish man born with cerebral palsy. Fricker was also known for her role as the Central Park "pigeon lady" who became friends with Kevin McCallister in "Home Alone 2.
" She also starred in 1994’s "Angels in the Outfield" with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Danny Glover.
