JUST IN | Document advising Kelly Khumalo and others be charged for Meyiwa murder holds no merit - NPA

The South Gauteng Director of Public Prosecutions says an indictment which seemingly implicated Kelly Khumalo and others in the murder of former Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa was a draft internal opinion that holds no merit.

In the National Prosecuting Authority document, which includes an unsigned indictment, Khumalo, her mother Gladness, her sister Zandi, Meyiwa's two friends, Tumelo Madlala and Mthokozisi Thwala, Zandi's boyfriend Longwe Thwala and Maggie Phiri are identified as those who should be prosecuted for Meyiwa’s murder and defeating the ends of justice.

A wildfire that started on the Lourensford Estate in Somerset West has been brought under control, following heavy rainfall overnight in the Cape Winelands. Firefighting teams were able to stand down on Sunday night after rains aided their efforts, said Cape Winelands District Municipality spokesperson Jo-Anne Otto.

"The suspect allegedly reported that he was returning from work when he was approached by three unknown men outside his house in Savanah Park. He was held up by the suspects who demanded his service pistol with 15 rounds of ammunition," said Ngcobo. The incident occurred at approximately 22:30 while the City's LEAP Reaction Unit was busy with crime prevention duties in Prince George Drive, Steenberg.

"He informed us that the driver of the vehicle had run away into the bushes, however, no one else was on the scene, and we suspect that he is the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident," Jones said. Shireen Essop, 32, who was abducted almost three weeks ago has been found and reunited with her family.

According to police, he had accepted a ride request from individuals in Parkwood, when he was robbed, beaten and dragged to a nearby bush by two men, before residents got wind of what was happening. The Namibian Presidency says there is no truth in allegations that President Hage Geingob inappropriately used his office to assist his African counterpart President Cyril Ramaphosa in an alleged cover-up of a cash heist at Ramaphosa's game farm.

Fraser alleges that Ramaphosa asked Geingob to help find the suspects, resulting in Presidential Protective Unit head Major-General Wally Rhoode entering and exiting Namibia using unofficial channels.Gauteng doctor who blew the whistle about Rahima Moosa hospital back at work after suspension is lifted

She also said there is"glaring errors" in the judgment handed down by the Western Cape High Court on Friday morning, which dismissed her application for interdicts against Parliament's impeachment process and Ramaphosa suspending her.
