Met Office issue new rain weather warning for parts of UK with multiple flood alerts in place
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain for Greater Manchester - as multiple flood alerts remain in place.
The Met Office has warned that in areas covered by the warning, flooding of a few homes and business 'is likely'. Bus and train services are expected to be affected by the weather, with problems on the roads also predicted. The alert comes just days after another yellow warning for heavy rain was issued in our region. Torrential showers fell over Greater Manchester for several days, leading to flooding on some local roads with cars left submerged underway and motorways closed off.
People who live nearby have been warned that 'flooding is possible' - so to 'be prepared'. Local residents are being advised to avoid low lying footpaths or entering areas prone to flooding while the alert remains in place.
