BREAKING: ‘Land scam kingpin’ – Deputy President David Mabuza named as top suspect in organised crime complaintOn the morning of 5 December 2022, the Investigating Directorate of the NPA received a criminal complaint from the Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse under the Prevention of Organised Crime Act, with Deputy President DD Mabuza named as the lead suspect. The allegations cover a litany of charges that stretch from 2002 to the present day, mainly to do with the ‘land claims scam’ and the case of conservationist and whistle-blower Fred Daniel. For the first time, all aspects of the case are submitted in a single affidavit, including the contents of the “missing dockets” as reported by Daily Maverick in August 2022. “Hotlinks” to the attendant evidence are also included in the complaint.
