RIO DE JANEIRO: Brazil menduduki tempat ke-2 di dunia selepas Amerika Syarikat bagi kes Covid-19 pada Jumaat, selepas mengesahkan 330,890 orang dijangkiti virus itu, mengatasi Rusia, kata Kementerian Kesihatan.
Di Sao Paulo, kota yang paling teruk dilanda virus itu, video udara menunjukkan deretan liang lahad siap digali di Tanah Perkuburan Formosa untuk memenuhi permintaan pengkebumian. Bekas kapten tentera itu menyaksikan penurunan sokongan, dikecam pesaing politiknya berhubung langkah jarak sosial, sokongan terhadap ubat chloroquine yang belum terbukti dan pertengkaran dengan pegawai kesihatan awam yang berpengalaman.
Pada Isnin, Brazil mengatasi Britain dengan jumlah jangkitan ke-3 tertinggi di dunia. Ia mengatasi Rusia pada Jumaat, tetapi tidak mungkin melepasi Amerika Syarikat tidak lama lagi. AS mempunyai lebih 1.5 juta kes.
