The Home Secretary has been accused of being on leadership manoeuvres by Tory MPs
The Home Secretary was looking increasingly isolated on Tuesday, with several senior Tories saying they are “p***ed off” over
She added via X, formerly Twitter, that she wanted to stop “those who cause nuisance and distress to other people by pitching tents in public spaces”.that while the plans had been shared by Home Office officials, the policy was not signed off and was not being considered for inclusion in the King’s Speech.
Her comments have attracted significant criticism from her own MPs, while Cabinet members have distanced themselves from her language. Energy Secretary Claire Coutinho said on Monday she “wouldn’t necessarily use” the language the Home Secretary chose to talk about homelessness, while Justice Secretary Alex Chalk told Sky News on Tuesday that he would take a “take a different approach”.
