Brandon Tsay, 26, disarmed the Monterey Park shooter when he went to a second dance studio, Lai Lai, with gun in hand in Alhambra late Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023. Given the context, organizers expect a “slightly more subdued festival than years past, out of respect for the victims, their families, and all those impacted, including the small businesses in the city and region.”
